1. Some engraving suggestions on solid wood and hardwood?

Use the "bottom to top" engraving mode. In the laser software RDwork we use, you can change the working mode of the laser head, allowing you to engrave from bottom to top instead of the usual top to bottom engraving. This has the advantage of reducing smoke and debris from being drawn into the engraved area as the laser head moves.

After the engraving is completed, use some degreasing agent to clean it. Because the hardwood gum is black when it is burned at high temperatures.

2. Can you really carve glass? What are the skills?

The first thing to know is that not all glass is flat. Although you may think that you need to buy some more expensive and more expensive glass to get better results, it is not the case. We have many customers who use the glassware of the wholesaler to engrave, but the engraving effect is also very good.

For the engraving glass we give you some advice:

Using a lower resolution, you can get better results with about 300DPI;

Change the black in the graphic to 80% black to improve the quality of the engraving.

We found that laying a wet tissue on the glass helps to dissipate heat and improve the quality of the engraving, but make sure the paper is not wrinkled.

Use a finger or paper towel to apply a thin layer of soap to the area to be engraved, which also helps to dissipate heat;

Use ScotchBrite or similar items to polish the engraved area to remove glass fragments.

3. What should you pay attention to when carving on plywood (plywood) or light wood?

This material is more suitable for use in the field of cutting rather than engraving because the texture of the plywood may be uneven and there are different layers of glue inside. When you are carving on it, the material is very important, uneven, or a lot of glue, especially less will affect the engraving effect.
