The lighting industry is a traditional advantage industry in Zhongshan, forming an industrial cluster with an annual output value of over 100 billion yuan. It is the largest professional lighting production base and distribution center in China. Only Guzhen Town has nearly 9,000 lighting industrial enterprises registered in the industrial and commercial department, and the industrial agglomeration effect is obvious. Zhongshan lighting products are not only sold well in the country, but also exported to more than 130 countries and regions. The annual export volume accounts for 23% of Guangdong's export lighting products and 8% of the country. At present, there are 51 export lighting companies in the demonstration area, which are distributed in 10 towns such as Guzhen, Henglan and Xiaolan, which are concentrated in the lighting industry in Zhongshan. The construction of this demonstration area began in 2013 and passed the provincial acceptance in December 2015. In 2015 and 2016, Zhongshan City continuously invested more than 4 million yuan in construction funds for the creation of demonstration areas, and introduced the use of funds for standardized management. This year, the Zhongshan Municipal Government decided to arrange 4 million yuan of financial funds at the municipal and town levels as the testing and certification subsidy for enterprises entering the zone in the demonstration area within three years. After field inspection, the assessment team believes that the advantages of Zhongshan's export lighting industry cluster are outstanding. The Zhongshan Export Lighting Quality and Safety Demonstration Zone has carried out fruitful work in building quality assurance system, quality and safety supervision system, risk management system and public service system. The demonstration area has built a multi-party joint quality and governance system, which has promoted the transformation and upgrading of the export lighting industry and improved the overall quality level of export products and industries.
